Born on a small rock in the South Pacific called Aotearoa, Sam Crawford traded the forests and rivers of New Zealand for the streets of New York and never looked back. The son of a pioneering New Zealand photographer, there was never much chance of escaping either side of the camera.

 

Guided by a fascination with atmosphere, Crawford creates images that balance graphic precision with a sense of wonder. Working across fashion, beauty, and fine art, he uses light, color, and form to create photographs that feel both intimate and cinematic, exploring the space between observation and imagination.
